Going away for the Easter long weekend? Make sure your caravan is insured correctly.

The family caravan is your home away from home. For many, Caravanning is more than just a type of holiday; it’s a way of life. Giving you all the comforts of home, out on the road.

You may think all caravan policies provide the same level of cover—unfortunately they don’t. In particular, what is included under the definition of Caravan can differ from policy to policy.

The cover provided under the Contents section can also differ. If your caravan is fitted with a roll-out awning then this is likely to be insured under the Caravan definition of fixture and fittings.

However, if you have either a separate annex which fits to your caravan/camper trailer, or walls that fit to the roll out awning, these will generally not be covered unless they have been insured separately under the annex section of the policy.

So, if you are in any doubt about whether your current cover is right for you, please contact BJS Insurance Brokers. We will take the time to understand your needs and recommend the solution that is right for you.
